True Mother gave guidance and encouragement to 7,000 people attending the 2013 National Seonghwa Student Cultural Festival at the International Jamboree Center in Gangwon providence, Korea on August 2-4, 2013. The festival coincided with the Blessed Cultural and Sports Festival in New York and in some ways resembled it.
True Mother told the 5,000 teens in the audience the following: “You who are gathered here today, I am so proud of you! I believe that True Father will be pleased with what you have prepared for performances and everything. You are the dream of Heavenly Parents; you are the light of hope that can achieve the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind’s dream.”
True Mother also emphasized the need witness to many about True Parents. “Seonghwa students need to be best students in your school. You need to be the first in class. Whatever environment you are in, you are the best people. You need to know there are people out there watching you. If this is the case, then what do you think you should do? You should study hard and grow. Later on you should be a great person right? If you do that, you will stand on a place that can achieve True Parents’ will. What do you think all people from all the different countries say about you? You will be winners.”
Seonghwa (成和), which roughly translates as “those who harmoniously achieve God’s will,” is the term True Father issued to represent Unificationist-born youth who would brighten the world. Altogether, 5,000 Seonghwa students, 1,000 parents, 500 pastors and the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) college students participated in this two-day, three night overnight cultural festival and camp. The CARP- and Universal Peace Academy staff members prepared 1,200 tents for the participants, who endured rainy weather.
The theme for the National Seonghwa Camp, which hosted the Seonghwa Cultural Festival, was: “Filial piety for True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind.”
Mr. Joong Ho Byeon, a local second-generation leader from Choongnam providence, and Ms. Hwa Dam Lee, a staff member from the second-generation department, served as emcees. The festival was separated into two parts. In part one, there was the entrance of True Parents, a report prayer, a commemorative photo shoot, a congratulatory performance, a sample lecture demonstration, choir performances, a talent show, special performances by True Mother’s grandchildren, a speech from True Mother and a campfire.
